Uma das mais importantes revistas de música da atualidade, a NME premiou ontem os melhores (e piores) do ano em um vasto leque de categorias no NME Awards.

Se no Brit Awards a premiação foi predominantemente feminina, no NME aconteceu o contrário. Muse e Kasabian ficaram no topo da lista com dois prêmios cada.

O Muse levou a estatueta de Melhor Banda e Melhor Website, enquanto o Kasabian a de Melhor Álbum e Melhor Capa, com “West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum”. Já o Bombay Bicycle Club ficou com o prêmio de Revelação e o Arctic Monkeys foi considerado a Melhor Banda ao Vivo, batendo Kasabian, Muse, Radiohead e Them Crooked Vultures.

As surpresas da premiação ficaram por conta do Paramore, que levou o prêmio de Melhor Banda não-Britânica; e os estreantes do The Big Pink, que com a faixa “Dominos”, ficou com o prêmio de Melhor Música de 2009.

Na parte mais bizarra da premiação, Jonas Brothers foram eleitos a pior Banda com o Pior Disco de 2009, enquanto Lady Gaga - com seu visual excêntrico – foi considerada ao mesmo tempo a mais bem e mal-vestida do ano (WTF?).
